1967
Mercedes-Benz developed the first control unit with a controlled dosage of gasoline into the carburetor.
1975
A control unit manufactured by Bosch has been used in racing cars for the first time, sport chiptuning began to write its history.
1980
Control unit Bosch K - Jetronic is implemented to the mass-produced cars with gasoline engines.
1980
First chiptuning designers perform chiptuning by using optimization of dosage of the fuel in accordance to mechanical adjustments of engine - intake, cam, exhaust, etc.
1985
Bosch Motronic equipped with EPROM chip that allowed the recording of new data has been introduced.
1988
BMW 324 TD - the first diesel engine with electronic control unit ECU.
1989
Audi 100 2.5 TDI comes with an electronic accelerator.
1992
Audi 80 1.9 TDI - a new type of the body which is still in production.
1993
VW Golf 3 receives a license from Audi.
1997
Bosch EDC 15 – introduced a control unit for the new emission standards.
1999
Other car factories come with controlled fuel injection: the Fiat JTD, Renault DCI PSA with HDI.
2004
Bosch EDC 16 – introduced a new control unit, which already meets emission standard Euro 3 and 4.
2006
The new Siemens unit ECU, which is able to deal burning with a solid particles filter installed in the exhaust system.
